Trinity MCC of Arlington & Grand Prairie, Texas - Fire

Updates from Pastor Curtis

The Almighty God says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)

Wow, God is so Good!!!!  We had a wonderful worship attendance this past Sunday morning, in spite of being burned and smoked out of our normal space.  48 souls were in attendance, even while many were traveling due to the holidays.  That is amazing! Our landlord was gracious in allowing us to utilize a vacant warehouse space next door to our location.  It worked great in a pinch and the Spirit of the Lord filled the space as the Praise Team and congregation sang familiar Christmas carols and praise songs. It warms my heart knowing we are seeking God even in the midst of this tragic accident.

Huge thanks to many, many fine people, churches and groups that have supported us with prayers, various types of aid and offers of support.

  1. Our Board of Directors, Deacons and other leaders for jumping into action by being fiscally responsible and spiritually and emotionally in-tune while facilitating our recovery.

  2. All of our members for lovingly pulling together and doing the extra work to stay together during this time.

  3. The Grand Prairie Fire Department for the swift and appropriate response to the fire.

  4. Our Landlord for allowing us to use the neighboring space.

  5. Six Flags Corporate Offices loaned us the use of chairs. (It was one of their employees that called in the 911 report after seeing the fire.)

  6. Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce and GP Municipal Airport for helping us with the next two Sundays' worship spaces.

  7. The Dallas Voice for the online coverage of our story.

  8. AIDS Outreach Center for their support and encouragement.

  9. Kroger Floral Department at Lamar and Cooper in Arlington for the two beautiful Poinsettias. (They helped the empty warehouse feel more festive.)

  10. Starbucks at Fielder and Randol Mill for the insulated cambro of coffee, cups, and fixings.

  11. The Metropolitan Community Church Denomination (especially the North TX-New Mexico Network) for getting the word out and sending their prayers and support.

  12. Our Sister Churches in the Metroplex and their pastors for their support and prayers:  Greater Dallas MCC; Embrace UCC, Bedford; Cathedral of Hope UCC, Dallas; Celebration Community Church, FTW; and Fellowship of Love Outreach, FTW.

  13. Many individuals and groups that donated directly to our Building Fund which will give us some relief for meeting insurance deductibles and all the other incidentals we will likely face.

Locations of Future Worship Services:

  1. We will resume Wednesday Night Care and Share Bible Studies after we get settled back into our regular space.

  2. Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24 @ 11 PM:  We will meet in the parking lot at our home location for a short but sweet Mid-Night Mass.  933 E. Ave J.

  3. Sunday, December 27, 11:00 AM: Mixed Up Burgers @ the Grand Prairie Municipal Airport.  3116 South Great Southwest Pkwy, Grand Prairie, TX 75052 (this is not their North location, it is South near Traders Village between Mayfield and Pioneer Parkway.)  Plan to stay after worship and eat Fajitas with us.  No charge! But donations to our Building Fund will be accepted.

  4. Sunday, January 3, 11:00 AM:  Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce, (Board Room)  900 Conover Dr, Grand Prairie, TX 75051

Please come early if possible to help set up and guide others to the right locations.  Keep praying and expecting new and wonderful things from God!

Blessings,

Pastor Curtis
