Dear Trinity MCC Members and Friends,
Many of you may know already about the accidental fire the church experienced Monday night. We are so blessed that a witness, reported seeing the flames through our glass front doors and that the Grand Prairie Fire Department responded so swiftly and appropriately. Don't Panic!
God is still in on the throne and we are okay. No one was in the building at the time and no one is hurt. It was in the front entry area and the structural loss is very minimum with very little property loss. The smoke and soot damage will keep us from meeting in the space until we can get it cleared and cleaned professionally. Trinity MCC has graciously faced other tough moments in our 32 year history and God always provides through the faithfulness of our people and our community.
The Board of Directors and Deacons have met to discuss our options and how to handle this crisis. We will meet this Sunday at our normal time of 11:00 AM but we will meet in the parking lot. Bring your own lawn chairs. We will have a seasonally spiritual worship service. If weather does not cooperate, the landlord is offering us an empty space next door to us. The potluck is cancelled because we will not have access to our kitchen and things. Although many may want to join each other at an area restaurant after worship.
I will paraphrase one of our favorite verses for the church, Hebrews 10:24-25 and say, that it is important we continue focusing on doing our acts of love and good deeds, and not give up meeting together, but encourage one another all the more as we wait for return of Jesus or the slow process of restoration whichever comes first.
Your prayers and attendance at this week's worship service will be the biggest help, but we would also appreciate any donation you make to our Building Fund to cover our deductible and other incidentals we will likely incur.
